We are saddened to report that Bruce Willis is retiring from acting, Roommates. In a statement, his family revealed that he has chosen to step away from his career after being diagnosed with aphasia, which is a condition that impacts ones ability to speak, write or understand language as a result of brain damage.
Demi Moore shared the news in a post on Instagram.
“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and much consideration Bruce Willis is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him,” Demi wrote.

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we now how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that.”
The beloved actor is known for his portrayal of John McClane in the 1988 action move ‘Die Hard’, which soon became his first major film franchise. He’s been nominated for five Golden Globes and three Emmy’s oner the course of his career, which stretches over four decades.
