The New York City Police Department has ended their day-long manhunt for Frank James. The 62-year-old man suspected of shooting ten people on a subway train in Brooklyn on Tuesday was arrested today. According to CNN, Patrol officers arrested Frank in New York’s East Village neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon.

A brave New Yorker named Zack takes credit for spotting the suspected shooter. Zack says Frank was seen in his store on security cameras. That’s when Zack notified authorities. Zack’s quick thinking ultimately led to Frank James’ arrest, he says.

“I was working…doing security cameras inside. And I see the guy, walking from the street. I see the camera and I thought ‘oh sh*t, this guy.’ So I thought ‘let me call the police,’ so I called them and they catch him.”

29 victims were involved in the Brooklyn shooting. This number includes 10 who were shot. None of their injuries appear to be life-threatening, officials said. Five of the victims were young adults commuting to school, says New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Frank James’ Social Media Posts Seemingly Link To Brooklyn Subway Shooting

Police consider Frank a suspect due to his recent social media activity, NBC reports. He shared videos expressing bigoted views, violence, and criticism of Mayor Eric Adams’ policies. Specifically those addressing public safety and homeless outreach on subways.

NBC News reports that NYPD police shared a screenshot of a video from Frank James’ YouTube channel, “prophet oftruth88.” However, the video, which was lengthy and filled with profanity, has since been removed as of 12:45 p.m. Additional videos on the channel discussed death, a race war, and the desire to exterminate specific groups of people.

The disturbing videos didn’t end there. In a post from April 6th, Frank said there “needs to be more mass shootings,” claiming the problem wouldn’t be the shooter but rather the environment they exist in.

Just one day before the shooting, Frank said he had experienced the desire to kill people. He didn’t, however, want to go to jail. In another video from March 18th, the alleged shooter claimed he had severe post-traumatic stress disorder. At this time, no bail information is available or formal charges.
