Kathy Hilton was at the center of social media’s cancel culture after she mistakenly referred to Lizzo as the fictional character ‘Precious’ portrayed by Gabourey Sidibe. Just days after she blurted out the wrong name, Kathy is blaming her “terrible” vision for the mistake.

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she played a game that required her to identify celebrities only using a photo of their face. Once Lizzo’s face popped up on the screen, Kathy blurted out, “I feel like I do. Precious?”

Hilton responded to he backlash in a comment on Instagram, claiming that her vision is not so great.

The screen was so far way and my vision is terrible. If you recall, I couldn’t even make out who Justin Timberlake or Melissa Etheridge was.”

At the time, Kathy also failed at identifying JT and replied, “Who the hell is that?”

Despite Kathy providing an explanation for causing such an offense, some folks online aren’t convinced that it was a genuine mistake. Social media influencer and ‘Ellen Show’ correspondent Kalen Allen came to Lizzo’s defense on Twitter.

Other people made commentary about Kathy’s statement aligning with the racist ideology that all Black people physically resemble one another.
