On Friday, March 7, Lanez released his latest album via YouTube. Furthermore, on the track ‘T.D.F x LA County Jail,’ Lanez could beheard giving a shoutout specifically to fellow R&B singer Chris Brown.
“Where was you n****s when I was in Cali f****d up with no covers to bundle up? / Only real n***a that helped me was Chris Brown, that really my brother, bruh,” Tory Lanez rapped.
According to HotNewHipHop, on the song ‘FREE TORY,’ Lanez delved more into how exactly Brown helped him.
“I had no real, like, access to my funds. I was f****d up. And my lawyer wanted over, like, a quarter million to represent me for the appeal. So, you know, I start hollering at all my rap friends, my celebrity friends, and nobody was there. N****s treating me like I was dead and this n***a Chris Brown, n***a, I’ll never forget it. This n***a Chris Brown came out of nowhere, bro, he just gave me the money. He said, ‘Look, bro, when you get outside, n***a, holler at me. Hope you come home.’ That a real n***a, bro,” Lanez said on the track.
Tory Lanez says Chris Brown was the only celebrity who help paid for his lawyer fees, when his bank account got frozen.

Before Tory Lanez made headlines with his shoutout to Chris Brown, footage of him in prison went viral. As The Shade Room previously reported, in February, footage surfaced of Lanez on a video call, laying down the vocals for an apparent song. However, while Lanez was recording, a riot broke out which led the rapper to abruptly pause his recording.
Ultimately, Lanez left the camera after sharing that pepper spray had been initiated on the inmates.
