Roommates, it’s been less than 24 hours and Latto has earned her first number one on iTunes with the recent release of the ‘Big Energy’ remix featuring Mariah Carey! Following the release of her debut album last week, Latto is racking up streams and positive feedback to her highly-anticipated project.

While the world was still talking about the viral Oscars moment between Will Smith and Chris Rock, Latto finally dropped the remix to her hit single ‘Big Energy’ featuring the one and only Mariah Carey—and her fans couldn’t get enough of the track. Which explains why streams of the song are currently dominating the iTunes chart in multiple countries.

As we previously reported, last week was a pretty big week for Latto, as she was tirelessly promoting her long-awaited debut album—including multiple interviews, dropping a sneak peek of the tracklist and features and getting her fans ready for what they’ve been waiting for. Once the album was finally out, Latto blessed her fans with one final surprise courtesy of Mariah Carey.

Just before Latto broke the news, she and Mariah were teasing fans on Twitter with subtle posts hinting that they had something in the works, and the speculation proved to be true. You’ll recall that Latto’s hit song ‘Big Energy’ samples ‘Fantasy,’ which is Mariah’s chart-topping 1995 classic featuring the late Old Dirty Bastard.
