Here’s What’s Recently Happened With Sean Kingston

According to the New York Post, Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was booked into Broward County jail on Sunday, June 2. This reportedly followed the musician’s extradition from California.

Kingston and his 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner, have reportedly been hit with multiple charges. The outlet adds that this includes “conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, identity theft, and related crimes.”

The pair are accused of stealing “hundreds of thousands” of cash from multiple banks and almost $500,000 worth of jewelry. Additionally, Kingston and his mother are accused of stealing a $160,000 truck and over $80,000 worth of furniture.

The outlet adds that the “exact details” of the mother and son’s “fraud scheme” have yet to be shared. However, the police reportedly believe their crimes occurred between October 2023 and March 2024.

WPLG Local 10 adds that Kingston has been hit with “nine felony charges” and placed on a $100,000 bond. Furthermore, the musician and his mother are expected to face a judge on Monday, June 3.

A Brief Recap Of Events Surrounding The Singer’s Arrest

As The Shade Room previously reported, Kingston initially made headlines on May 23. At the time, reports surfaced that his home in Southwest Ranches, Florida, had been raided.

Additionally, it was revealed that his mother had been arrested and hit with multiple fraud and theft charges.

Furthermore, at the time, it was speculated that the raid was sparked by Kingston’s inability to complete the payment on a home entertainment system. The musician reportedly paid $30,000 for a “colossal 232-inch TV” and “robust sound system” installed in his home in December 2023. However, Kingston reportedly failed to satisfy the total $150,000 amount.

After reports surfaced, Kingston took to social media to share that he and his mother were “good” and his lawyers were handling the allegations and subsequent raid and arrest.

However, later that evening, Kingston was reportedly arrested in California, per The Shade Room. At the time, CNN reported that arrest warrants had been issued for Kingston and his mother’s arrest on May 20.

The arrest warrants were reportedly prompted by the alleged million-dollar fraud scheme. At the time, AP News revealed that Kingston’s mother previously pled guilty to bank fraud in 2006. Meanwhile, the outlet added that Kingston was on two-year probation at the time of arrest for trafficking stolen property.
